This sensory bin was inspired by the letter I.

Materials
My husband suggested using icing sugar as part of this bin, but I wanted something simpler.  And less messy.  So we went with a super easy letter I bin that featured a lot of "ice" things.
  • Ice
  • Ice cream foam play set
  • Ice cube tray
  • Igloo from Safari Arctic TOOB
  • Ice cream scoop
  • Large foam letter I
  • Small foam letter I
Ice, ice, baby...
We set this bin up a few weeks ago for the boys to explore after K's nap.  J reached for the foam letters first, while K picked up the ice cream scoop first.

Checking out the bin
Of course, the ice had to be tasted by both boys.

J licking the ice.
Now K gives it a taste.
J also spent some time sorting the ice cubes into the ice cube tray.

Practicing some one-to-one correspondence.
A close up of the ice being sorted.
J also used the ice and some scoops from the ice cream foam set to "trace" the large foam I.

And then, as usual, K climbed into the bin.

K has climbed on in.
Another successful bin.
